Don’t just use one airline for ticket booking
Many of my relatives ask me about the best way to get good airfare on vacation, and I always tell them the first thing to start with is you have to compare flights. Some of them have heard that Southwest Airlines is the cheapest of all, so they’ll go straight to that site to find out what the cheapest tickets cost, but this is a big mistake very often. Yes, Southwest is known for being cheap, but in nearly every case all their competition will charge the same amount for those flights, and sometimes even less.
Some people assume that American, Delta, or United would always be the most expensive because that’s what all the business travelers fly and they are known for having the best service. But the reality is that all airlines compete fiercely by price, and things are only getting more intense. In the olden days of travel agents consumers never knew what should cost what, but now that the internet is filled with sites that list airfare it’s very easy to compare all the flights at once. In many cases you’ll find that the most convenient flight is a few dollars more than the one leaving in the early morning, so it’s important to look carefully and then choose the best one for you and not just the cheapest.
